Gerald E. Baggett, 92, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on June 23, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1933, in Repton, Alabama, to Ollie and Allie Baggett. He was a man defined by his devotions — family, work, and golf.

Gerald proudly served in the United States Army, including 13 months in Korea.

For more than 50 years, Gerald and his wife, Barbara, made their home in Spanish Fort, building a life rooted in hard work and family. He worked at China Doll Dixie Lily for around 56 years, remaining on the job until just a month before his passing, when he stepped away to care for Barbara, his wife of nearly 73 years. The two would have celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on July 4th — a testament to a love that anchored his entire life.

And when he wasn’t with his family or at work, chances are he was on the golf course. Golf was a lifelong love, and anyone who knew Gerald knew better than to get between him and a tee time.

He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Cheri.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Lauren Moore and her husband, Keith, and Keith’s daughters, Krista Woods and Dayna Moore, and their families; his daughter, Wendy Castle and her husband, Phillip, along with Wendy’s son, Matthew Walters. He is also survived by his siblings, James Baggett, Joan Calambokidis (Cal), and Larry Baggett (Vicki); his grandchildren through his beloved Cheri, Thor Cumbie (Jeff), Trey Horsting, Allie Lursen (Matt), and Ben Boller (Chris); and two great-grandsons, Thomas and William, the sons of Allie and Matt.

A service celebrating Gerald’s life will be held at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church.
