Gertrude Meltzer Weisberg, 94, a resident of Fairhope and native of Syracuse, New York, passed away at home on Friday, July 26, 2013. She was retired from the Dade County School District where she worked as a secretary. Gertrude’s passion was a love of dogs and she always had a small dog as her pet. Moreover, she loved collecting dog memorabilia. She was a sweet, dear person with a mind of her own whom people loved and loved being around.

Surviving are her son, Ron Weisberg of Oakland, California and her brother, Allen O. Meltzer, Point Clear, AL.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30am at Hughes Funeral Home.
