Tribute

Glenda Moody Ammons, a native of Mobile, AL and a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 69.

Glenda retired after 30 plus years as a legal secretary.  She was an active member at Fish River Baptist Church where she demonstrated her love for our Lord and Savior through her wonderful singing talent, which she used as her ministry every chance she had until her health kept her from it.  She was devoted to her family and loved them dearly, and even considered her twin sister’s (Brenda) children, Tracy and Janie, as her own and they considered her as their second mother. Glenda was a devoted wife, and she loved her family dearly.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruby Moody; and three brothers, James Moody, Joseph Moody and David Moody.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Troy Lee Ammons; adopted daughter, Zoie Nichols of Fairhope, AL; five grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn Smyly of Thomasville, AL and Brenda M. Watson of Fairhope, AL; very special nieces and nephews who she loved as her own; special friends, Brooklyn Corley, Lara and Brianna Higginbotham, who loved her and called her “Gran”; her fur-babies, Gus (her little man) and Hope; and a host of other family members and friends from all walks of life.

A celebration of her life will be held at Fish River Baptist Church, 17140 County Road 33 in Fairhope, on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate

Expressions of condolence for the family may be made at www.hughesfh.com.  Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
