December 23, 1927 – May 10, 2010 In Loving Memory.
Irmalee V. Nelson, age 82, born in Atlanta, Georgia and a longtime resident of the Fairhope area, died Monday, May 10, 2010 at a local healthcare center.

She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Grand Hotel for 15 years. Mrs. Nelson is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Durward F. Nelson of the Barnwell community.

Survivors include a brother, Walter D. Venable, Jr. and his wife Virginia (Jenny) of Fairhope; nephew, Walter D. Venable, III (Juilette) of Fairhope; niece, Kathy V. Langley (Michael) of Grand Bay, AL; great nephews, Micah Machefsky, Camp Pendleton, CA; Walter Venable, IV and Christian Venable of Fairhope; great nieces, Mariah Machefsky and Laila Venable of Fairhope.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service.

Graveside services with interment will be held at 10:00am, Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Brook-Cedron Cemetery, Barnwell, AL with Rev. David Machefsky officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
