James Carlos Robbins, or affectionately known as “Big Daddy” to those who loved him, of Fairhope, AL, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Thomas Hospital, at the age of 85. He was born December 10, 1936, in Mobile.
Carlos was a graduate of Vigor High School, and proudly served our country in the US Marine Reserves for four years. He worked most of his adult life as a salesman for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and Zep Manufacturing Company.
Carlos had three beautiful daughters, Carla, Kelly, and Holly, and he always loved spending time with them anytime he could. Carlos also enjoyed woodworking, homebuilding, boating, fishing, and anything that involved being on the water. Another great joy in his own words was “touring his estate on his golf cart.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Charlie Robbins, and Lucille (Evers) Robbins, and his youngest daughter, Holly.
Surviving Carlos are his daughters, Carla (Todd) Myers and Kelly Robbins; grandchildren, Kristi (Brandon) Bellew and Rucker Beasley; great grandchildren, James Brandon Bellew and Madi Grace Bellew; former wife, Patricia Robbins; his brother, Kenneth (Ellen) Robbins; and two nephews, James Robbins, and Evan Robbins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 6:00PM, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at 4:00PM until service time.

I did not know your father, but he must of been a GREAT man to have raised such wonderful daughters.

Pat, Carla & Kelly my heart hurts for you. I have fond memories of “Crazy Carlos” growing up together in Loxley. Y’all are in my thoughts & prayers in the days ahead.
