James Rodney McCollum, a native of Columbus, GA and a resident of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the age of 64.
James was born and raised in Columbus, GA. He went to Jordan High School and Columbus Vocational Technical School. He was a welder/pipefitter by trade. He was the best friend and husband to his wife, Lynnda for 40 years, and they were blessed with three beautiful daughters. His favorite thing in this world was being “Pops” to his “littles”.
He is survived by his wife, Lynnda Hyche McCollum; daughters, Gweneth “Sage” McCollum of Mobile, Amanda Lynn Morris (T.J.) of Daphne, and Katlyn Marie Hanson (Blake) of Mobile; grandchildren, Landon Bryant Morris, Terry Jack Morris, Charlie Ann Hanson, Lillian Marie Morris, and Blake Ivy Hanson, who will be arriving any day; and siblings, Connie Michelsen, Dennis McCollum, Rick McCollum and Denise McCollum; along with other family members and friends.
A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
