Jimmy D. (Jimmie) Morrow, a native of Tennessee and a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the age of 83.
In his early years, Jimmy graduated from Ripley High School in Ripley, Tennessee. He always loved music, and especially Elvis! When he started dating Bertie Sue, they frequently went to the theater to watch Elvis movies. As a young adult, Jimmy sang bass in a gospel quartet. Later in life, genealogy was his passion for decades. Jimmy always loved and glorified the South!
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie W. Morrow and Clara Agnes Wheeler Morrow and one brother, Thomas G. Morrow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Bertie Sue Newman Morrow; two daughters, Kimberly (Andrew) Briley and Pamela (Paul) Alburl, both of Daphne, AL; one granddaughter, Jennifer Briley Smith; three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Jackson and Madilyn; special nephew, Greg Morrow; and special friends, Bobby Hathcock and Jim Wall; and his beloved dog, Bonnie and cat, Riley.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, at 3PM. There will be a time of visitaiton with family and friends before the service, beginning at 2PM.

I didn’t know Jimmy very long but his daughter, Kim is a precious friend of mine. Every encounter I had with him was always pleasant. I dearly love his family and feel this incredible loss. My thoughts and prayers are with them.
Craig and I are so sad about the passing of Jim! He was a good neighbor and always a pleasure to be around. Even thru his pain, I never heard him complain! We are 2 doors down Sue if you need us!!
Jimmy Morrow is my cousin. I found out the sad news of his passing yesterday morning.
His family is so wonderful. He was my closest link to my mother who passed away in 1966. We only started getting aquatinted about 15 years ago by chance. I loved visiting with him, and talking about family history and the history of the South.
I will always think of his infectious laughter, and wisdom. Always admiring the man he was, and so proud to be related to him.
I enjoyed our talks. The last time I saw him two years ago he reminded me of that special connection we had because of my late mother.
He was special to all that had the pleasure of meeting him I know.
He will be missed so much.
