Jo Ann Morris, a native of Bessemer, Alabama and a resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the age of 83.

Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She took pride in her homemaking. JoAnn loved to cross-stitch and was very generous with her craft and time.  She truly enjoyed caring for her flowers and plants.  She was an avid football fan, both NFL and college – ROLL TIDE!

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shackelford; brother, Charles Shackelford; sisters, Shirley Conway; brother-in-law, Jim Conway; and granddaughter, Abigail Emma Morris.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Timothy O. Morris, Jr.; her children, Kelly Walker (Michael Walker) of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Timothy O. Morris, III (Suzanne Cooper Morris) of Kennesaw, GA; her grandchildren, Wesley Walker (Leslie Bacon) and Sophie Morris (Mack Graham); along with other family members and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL, at 9AM.  Following the burial, a celebration of life will be held at South River Park Church of God, 10993 County Road 32 in Fairhope, AL, at 11AM.

Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.

    I will miss our phone calls, all our trips we went on, but I will always remember you and Tim and our wonderful friendship we shared. Rest my sweet friend, we will be together one day. God will take care of Tim. Our Love to all of your sweet family.

    JoAnn will always be remembered for her hospitality, creativity, and love for her friends and family. She was my daughter’s mother-in-law, and much love was shared. Her grandchildren were her special blessings. She will be missed.
