November 8, 1942 – March 31, 2014

Johnny Wayne Vickers, Sr., 71, of Theodore/Tillman’s Corner, passed away March 31, 2014. He was born November 8, 1942, in Oneonta, Blount County, Alabama, to the parents of John William Vickers and Willie Mae (Vest) Vickers.

Johnny worked heavy construction for over 50 years and the last 35 years in project management with Babcock & Wilcox Construction Company. He was a highly accomplished welder and a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union.

Johnny is survived by his two son’s Wayne and Dustin; four grandchildren, Wesley (his wife Andrea), Ashley, Zachary, and Quinley, and was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Waylon. Johnny was surrounded by family at his time of passing. He will be laid to rest near his mother and father in Blount County, Alabama.
