Joseph F. Goodie, a native of Tampa, FL and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 68.

Joseph was a graduate of Leon High School.  He also graduated from the University of Mississippi and Troy University.  He was a Sgt. E-5 in the Army and fought in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart.  Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, watching football and his sons, as well as travelling.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Joan R. Shepherd; his father, Joseph B. Goodie; and his daughter, Violet Amber Goodie.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria Ann Goodie; his sons, Joseph J. Goodie (Toni) and Taylor H. Goodie (Laura); grandchildren, Madelynn and Davin; siblings, James Kitchens, Mary Louise McRae (Daniel), Jill Bell, Joanie Sharman (Bobby), Joette Roan (John) and Kelly Jo Hare (Dan); numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and his Recon. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 8271 Whispering Pines Road in Daphne.  The funeral will be on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 8:45 AM at Holy Trinity Church.  Interment will follow at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
