Joseph Robert Coffman, Jr., 61, resident of Mobile for the past twenty years, passed away, January 23, 2014 at home. Growing up in Alton, Illinois, he graduated from Worden High School where he played varsity basketball. After moving to the Mobile area, he attended Pensacola Jr. College and went to work as an instrument and electrical technician and began working in various industries such as Shell Oil, Chevron Oil, Degussa, IPSCO (SSAB) and ThyssenKrupp. He was a talented guitarist, who played at the Zebra Club and other clubs in the Mobile area.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy M. Coffman of Mobile; his son, Joseph R. Coffman, III; three sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at American Cancer Society, 900 Western America Dr, Mobile, AL 36609 or www.cancer.org. Bless my brother Joe in his journey to heaven! He will be with our mom and dad. He will always be my Big Brother and I will always be his Little Baby Sister!!
I am very sorrow to learn of Joe’s passing. I want to extend my deepest symathy to his family. I was friends with Joe in high school. I attended Livingston High and Joe Worden where we competed in athletics as friends and were also friends outside of school. I am very sorry for your loss.
