In Loving Memory

Laurie Davis

January 19, 1962 - February 5, 2021

Laura Ellen Davis (Laurie), loving partner to James Young, mother to Andrew Reitberger, and sister to Pamela Erby (Terry), Charles Reitberger, Jr (Carol), Carol Hunt, and Dena Butler (William), and aunt to many nephews and nieces, peacefully passed February 5, 2021.

Born in California, on January 19, 1962, Laurie was raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. Laurie moved to Pearsall, Texas where she met her many lifelong friends. She worked on a ranch doing what she loved, taking care of all the animals, her people and her vegetable garden.

Laurie moved to Mobile, Alabama to be closer to her family. She spent her remaining years taking care of family and friends. Laurie had a huge heart, a wicked sense of humor, and a helpful soul. Along with family and friends, she loved animals (anyone’s animals) and older people. Many times, she would go shopping and return hours later because she would stop to help someone do their shopping, load their car or most times just take the time to talk to them.

She was a special person and will be greatly missed.

Laurie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Reitberger, father, Charles Andrew Reitberger Sr., and nephew, Aaron Schneider.

Services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Community Center, 7216 Melrose Drive, St. Martin, Mississippi 39532.

  1. Your sister Carol

What a sister! I was so lucky to have her as mine. She acted tough but was a big old softy inside. That is unless you messed with her family or friends. She was like a ninja she moved so fast and so fearless.🙂 I will always remember her smile, her humor, her love for reading, her devotion to animals, family and friends. She taught me resilience and how sometimes you have to battle through life when it gets tough. I wish she could have beaten this battle but it was beyond her ability to. If it took just her tenacity… I will miss her greatly. Be happy, healthy and tell mom and dad hi!! Love you!!

  2. Judi Farmer

One of my favorite people in the whole wide world. Such a loving, caring person. Thanksgiving will not be the same without her.

  3. Dick Farmer

Laurie had a special place in my heart throughout my time in the family. She was a bright light in recent years in her love that was freely given. Her abundant care for others went above and beyond. She frequently visited to care for our pets and they loved her. We believe she enjoyed us and found a needed retreat at times in our home. We miss you Laurie. ❤️🙏
