Linda Rose Lavoie, 74, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, following a courageous year-long battle with ALS.  She was born on August 25, 1951, in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Phil Lavoie. Together they built a life centered on family, love and lasting memories.

She is survived by her devoted son, P.J. Lavoie and his wife, Karyn, of Fairhope, AL; and her daughter, Lindsay Crescenzo and her husband, Peter, of Peabody, MA. Linda’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her grandchildren, Camryn, Cade, Anthony and Steven, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. Linda was also dearly loved by her nieces and nephews, Michael and Deanna Lavoie, Rick and Lisa Lavoie, Karen Vallas and Scott Scofield, as well as her great-niece, Casey Prescott, daughter of Karen Vallas.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Linda graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.  She spent most of her life in Peabody, Massachusetts where she built a wonderful home and enjoyed a long career as a dedicated employee of Peabody City Hall.  After retiring, she relocated to the Gulf Coast, first making her home in Orange Beach, Alabama in 2019 before later settling in Daphne, Alabama.

Linda embraced life with an adventurous spirit and an open heart. She loved to travel, whether exploring new places or revisiting favorite destinations, and she had a remarkable gift for making friends wherever she went. Her warmth, infectious smile, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her kind heart, and the joy she found in spending time with those she loved. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being “Mémère” to her beloved grandchildren.  Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Though her journey has ended, the love, laughter, and friendships she shared will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, at 5PM. There will be a time of visitation with family and friends before the service, beginning at 4PM.

Additional funeral arrangements will be held at Conway-Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street Peabody, MA, on Monday, August 17, 2026.  There will be a time of visitation from 9AM-11:30AM, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Linda’s memory to the Kelly Butler ALS Center at the University of South Alabama, whose compassionate care meant so much during her ALS journey.
