Johnny “Lynn” Turner, 67, a native of Mobile and resident of Daphne, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Johnny spent more than 50 years in the automotive and heavy truck industry, including over 20 years with FedEx as a Senior Global Vehicle GSE Technician and ASE Master Certified Heavy and Medium Truck Technician. He was respected for his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic throughout his career.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulyss and Nelda Turner, and his grandchildren, Taylor Michael Turner and Hadley Brooke Turner.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheri Wilkerson Turner; children, Shelley Delgado (Julio) of San Diego and Troy Turner (Chelsea) of Spanish Fort; one brother, Joe Turner (Cindy) of Citronelle; nephew, Aaron Turner (Laura) of North Carolina; and niece, Kelly Dixon (Chris) of Lucedale; other family members and friends.
Johnny will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his strong faith and deep devotion to the Lord, and the life he built with those he loved.
He enjoyed motocross, camping, tinkering, and woodworking. He loved the outdoors, especially riding bikes and visiting national and state parks with his family. He was also known for his sweet tooth, love of telling stories, and great sense of humor.
Among those mourning his loss is his faithful canine companion, Rudy, his devoted little shadow.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3 Circle Church, 10080 County Road 64, Daphne, Alabama. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. The family and close friends will gather for a private meal following the service.

Our family did not have the honor of meeting Mr. Johnny Lynn Turner but we do have the honor of having Shelley his beautiful daughter become a part of our family. Only a strong, loving, kind and generous father like Mr. turner could raise a strong, loving, kind and generous daughter like Shelley. Our family will always feel a genuine connection to Mr. Turner and we will keep him in our hearts forever through Shelley’s wonderful memories. Dear Johnny,
On my first trip to Alabama you were the first Turner I saw after getting off the plane. I was very nervous. I was afraid of you not accepting me as your daughter’s boyfriend but you quickly made me feel welcomed and a part of the family.
A few days later we prepped the car for a road trip to New Orleans. “You sit up front with dad” Shelley said. I stared at her long with a reluctant grin on my face and said “thank you baby!” Again nervous but I’m glad i did.
It didn’t take long for me to see that you were not much different than me and that you were someone I was proud to know. Hobbies, hard work and family first is what i noticed about you. I’m angry because I just started to get to know what a great man you are and what great loving father you were to Troy and my Shelley.
Now I would give anything to sit up front with you one last time.

When we first met Johnny and Sheri at the dog park — with their beloved Sophie and Rudy alongside our Roxy — who could have imagined we would become such dear friends over the years? They had a little A-line camper and trail bikes, and they were always off on another adventure: camping at the springs, Gulf Shores, Fort Pickens, Blakely State Park, and countless other places. Give those two the outdoors — whether it was the woods, the beach, the springs, or even the desert — and they were completely in their element, happiest when they were together.
One place they especially loved was Cheaha State Park in Alabama, where they invited Steve and me to celebrate their anniversary with them. Cheaha is a beautiful oasis— filled with towering woods, flowing streams, endless hiking trails, mystical rock formations, and breathtaking mountain views. It was there that we truly came to know Johnny’s fun-loving spirit, his playful antics, incredible sense of humor, and gift for storytelling — the kind that leaves your stomach aching from laughter and tears rolling down your cheeks.
We spent our days hiking in beautiful fall foliage, telling ghost stories around a blazing campfire, and grilling hamburgers under the stars. Later, we learned this was also the special place where Johnny and Sheri had brought Troy and Shelley when they were young. Growing up surrounded by camping trips and the outdoors, it’s no surprise Shelley wanted to become a Park Ranger and Troy loved shooting guns with his daddy. I felt like I already knew Troy and Shelley because Johnny and Sheri spoke about their children with such immense pride and love.
One thing Johnny definitely had all of us beat on was his love of sweets — especially candy! He could easily finish an entire bag of little candy bars in a single day. And whenever he scooped up a big handful of mints from the bowl at church, Sheri would lovingly remind him, “Leave some for everyone else!” 😊
Sheri, I cannot imagine a greater love story than the one you and Johnny shared. He adored you completely — right down to the “little freckles on your nose and cheeks” (Johnny’s words). Thank you for sharing Johnny with Steve and me. We shared so many wonderful moments together — laughing until we cried, being silly, and truly living life to the fullest.
Johnny will be missed dearly by all of us, and don’t worry Johnny because we all have our loving arms around Sheri and Rudy. ❤️
I spent much time with the Turners growing up with my best friend, Shelley. Mr. Johnny was always a calm, friendly person to be around. I know he loved his family dearly, and will be missed greatly. May his memory be Eternal.
