Marcia Rachel Manchefsky Gilmore, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the age of 71.

Marcia was a graduate of the University of South Alabama.  She worked as a legal secretary.  Marcia loved animals, and was always rescuing animals and taking care of her pets.

Marcia is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Machefsky in 1976, and her father, Morris Machefsky in 1981.

She is survived by her brother, David Machefsky; and her nieces and nephews, Micah (Kayla) Machefsky, Mariah Machefsky, Allana Chavous, Jace Chavous, Jeremiah Machefsky and Nickolai Machefsky.

Funeral services will be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11AM.  Dr. Eric Hankins and Rev. John Turner officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation before the service, beginning at 10AM.  Interment will follow at Brook-Cedron Cemetery, Barnwell, AL.

Expressions of condolences for the family may be made at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.

    I have been a resident of D’Iberville Apartments for 10 years. Marcia was the sweet person who interviewed me and found the perfect apartment for me.
    We found out that we are both cat lovers and would have conversations about our pets. She was the sweetest and most kind person.
