Matthew Travis Holzborn, a native of Kansas City, KS and a resident of Spanish Fort, AL, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the age of 54.

Travis grew up in Brewton, AL.  He was a 1987 graduate of the University of South Alabama with a BS Degree in Political Science, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.  In 1993, he graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree.  Most recently he worked as a yacht broker for Gulf Coast Yacht Group.  In his spare time, Matthew enjoyed going hunting and fishing.  In 1991, he married Rhonda Kaye Parks.

Travis is preceded in death by his father, Ernst Rudolph Holzborn; stepfather, John Lee Downing; and his maternal grandparents, Herman and Ann Rains Melton.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rhonda Kaye Parks Holzborn; children, Matthew Clay Holzborn and Anne Rains Holzborn, all of Spanish Fort; his mother, Hermine Melton Downing of Brewton; along with other family members and friends.

There will be a private service for the family at a later time.

    Just learned of Travis’ passing. Such a nice guy. I have not seen him or Rhônda in years but spoke to to Travis maybe a month ago. Boy did we have some good fish trips and great times visiting on our docks in Orange Beach.
