Mr. Maynard Hall, Sr., 94, longtime resident of Fairhope, AL, died on Saturday, February 29, 2020. He was born in Akron, OH to his parents, Virgil M. Hall and Beulah Bell Coberly Hall. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William “Bill” Hall and Gerald Hall, sister, Doris Weaver and granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Hall.
Mr. Hall was a veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII and was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He worked for many years in the commercial construction business where he was a superintendent. After retiring, he enjoyed a good day of fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Maynard (Susan) Hall, Jr. of Fairhope, AL, Dennis (Dottie) Hall of Tallahassee, FL and Julie (Randall) Holland, Live Oak, FL. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Rebecca Hall of Birmingham, AL, Sarah Hall of Fairhope, Scott Hall of Tallahassee,FL. Carmen Potter of Jacksonville, FL, Lora Bennitt of Phoenix, AZ and Lisa (Hector) Zamora of Mt. Vernon, WA; six great grandchildren; and the beloved family dog, Goober, who he affectionately called, “Old Blackie” and enjoyed feeding him his ginger snaps.
Graveside Services for Mr. Hall will be held at 12:30pm, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Alabama State Veteran’s Cemetery, 34904 State Hwy. 225, Spanish Fort, AL, 36527. The family will gather and receive friends at 11:30am. Officiating will be his son, Rev. Dennis Hall.
