In Loving Memory

Daphne, AL

Mona Stephens Shaw went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in Mobile, AL. She was 85, a resident of Daphne, AL, and a native of Baton Rouge.   She has joined her beloved husband John in heaven who has been patiently waiting to be reunited with her.

She will be remembered for her love of life, love of others, delicious cooking, endless hospitality and endless conversation.  She adored her family and her greatest joy was spending time with them.  She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren who affectionately called her “Monie” and with whom she shared many life lessons.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeff R. Shaw and wife Laura, Keven D. Shaw and wife Jan; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, John, Stephen and Walker Shaw.  She was proceeded in death by her parents, Murphy and Catherine Stephens, her husband John, and her brother Ronnie Stephens.

A graveside service will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery at a time to be announced on Thursday, June 1, 2017 conducted by Dr. Whitney Alexander.  Interment with her husband John Siess Shaw at Port Hudson National Cemetery. 

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Robert Percy and Dr. Terry Wilsdorf, and the staff of the Mobile Infirmary for the wonderful care given to Mona.
