Tribute

Monetta Cecilia Richardson, 72, born in Andalusia, Alabama, and resident of Mobile, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020.  She was a graduate of Vigor High School in 1966.  Monetta was employed with KBR Services for thirty years until her retirement. Travelling was her passion as she and her husband, Michael shared many wonderful experiences as they saw the world together.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lanton and Mona Mancil.

Surviving are her loving husband of twenty two years, Dean Michael Richardson, Mobile; her children, Heather (James) Dodgen, Mobile, John David (Misty) Pugh, Clarksville, TN, Glenn (Karen) Pugh, Atlanta, GA, Teresa Cornelison, Mobile, AL and Deana Richardson, Tuscaloosa, AL; eleven grandchildren, Trevor, Kelsee, Bryce, Story Day, Walter, Splendid, Jansen, Christian and Noah, Morgan and Brandon; two great grandchildren, Braxton and Branson.  Also surviving, her brother, Ronnie Fore and all of Michael’s brothers and sisters who loved her very much.

A Celebration of Monetta’s Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday Aug 22, 2020 at Providence Presbyterian Church.  Officiating will be Pastor Mary Clark.  The service will be by invitation only due to occupancy restrictions at the church. The service may be viewed at: https://www.facebook.com/ProvidencePresbyterianMobileAL/

Graveside services will follow immediately at 3:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery and is open to anyone who would like to come.  Attendees should line up in procession at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home parking lot at  2:45pm.  Flowers are being arranged through Beckham’s Florist, Mobile. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made in Monetta’s honor to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.

    Monetta was a wonderful friend and neighbor whom we all will miss greatly. We all join with you in mourning your great loss but at the same time we rejoice that she is in a heaven that is all sufficient in its joy and provision forever. What a wonderful Lord we serve!
