In Loving Memory
December 19, 1932 – February 12, 2016
Nancy Wilson Moore, 83 of Fairhope, Alabama died February 12, 2016. She was the daughter of C.E. Wilson and Sally Sollie. She passed full of grace in her home, looking at the Bay, with her dog, Buddy by her side.
She grew up in Tampa, Florida and after her father’s death, the family moved to Fairhope. She attended The University of Alabama at age of 16. After two years of higher education she returned to Fairhope to take a job at The Grand Hotel. She lived a fast life dating Navy boys and driving fast cars. One summer afternoon while walking through town she caught the eye of a young engineer. A few years after the initial rejection they reunited and were married in 3 months. They had their reception in the historic Colonial Inn on Mobile Street. Finally, Ack Moore, Sr. and Christ turned her life around. She was a great captain of all the boats that blessed their life, “The Get A Way”. They were married for 58 years. She worked as a secretary for Moore Engineering for 25 years… and later volunteered for St. Paul’s Thrift Shop. More than her jobs, she made you feel like you were the most special person in the world. She listened to many who needed advice. She accepted all with love. She was the most-well read progressive great grandmother you’ll ever meet. A life she lived of travel, volunteering, and a giving spirit. In the end, a beautiful person, pasted in a beautiful way … She was preceded in death by her most beloved husband, Ack Moore, Sr.
She is survived by her most devoted sons, Ack W. Moore, Jr. and Seth Wilson Moore and his wife Rebecca Faust Moore; Grandchildren, Caleb and Blake, Lauren and Catlin Moore; Great- grand children, James Suddeth and June and Keenan Baninister, Keller and Collin Moore… and so many other friends and family members that loved and supported her through all her life.
