Norman Musteffe, a native of Detroit, Michigan and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the age of 95.
Norman received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State College and his Master of Education from Wayne State University. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Norman was a middle school teacher for 25 years in Cape Coral, Florida; and was a Lieutenant in the Detroit Police Department for 26 years. Norman was very active and loved going to the gym to work out and was a devoted runner for most of his life and participated in many marathons. He loved baseball and enjoyed being on the water boating and fishing.
Norman was very successful in his life and excelled in all his endeavors. He loved God and his family more than anything in this world, they were his whole life. He would often say, “God works in mysterious ways…”
He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, Abraham Musteffe and Zelika Ahmed, both of Syria, brother, Joseph Musteffe, and two sisters, Zanib “Kitty” Bartlett and Alice Sofia.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, JoAnn Musteffe; children, David Musteffe (Kristy) of Sarasota, FL, Debra Tisch (Mark) of Gulf Shores, AL and Danielle Musteffe of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Tara Orr, and Briana Tisch; and great-grandchildren, Karson and Konnor Orr.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
