My dear Buddy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Here is a poem that I received when my mother died that has helped me get through some sad times.

    What is dying?

A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says, “She is gone”.

Gone Where? Gone from my sight, that is all; she is just as large as when I saw her . . .

The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her, and just at that moment when someone at my side says “she is gone”, there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout, “there she comes!” . . .

    and that is dying.

    Bishop Brent

I honor Odra with these words and send my prayers for you to find the strength to miss her on this earth and at the same time rejoice with her in her place of rest. You will be together again.

Dear Buddy, Stephanie, Trey and Ricky…my condolences go out to you and all of Odra’s family. I was so surprised to hear of my sweet friends passing. It’s been many years since she and and I were friends. Just after marrying and moving to Terry we met and were so close for a time. She gave me unmeasurable advise from blending my new family to gardening to raising children. We had many wonderful times at the race track in Clinton. I remember fondly the night Buddy went over the wall and she ran for the wrecker to go get him. She was an incredibly beautiful and vivacious woman, wife, mother, sister and friend and I can only imagine the best grandmother too! It’s been many years since our lives went in two directions but my memories of her will last forever as I know yours will. Prayers going up for peace in your hearts. Donna

Mr. Buddy, Stephanie, Trey, Mrs. Lou and Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Odra. The Vick family were the best neighbors anyone could ever have. I baby sit the children while she was gardening and running errands with Mr. Buddy. Mrs. Odra was a very nice and kind person that always made sure that she took care of her family. I have not spoke or seen them since they left Terry, MS. She was always dear to my heart. I hope and prey that all are doing well. Revelation 21:3-4.

I did not know of Odra’s death until last night’s prayer service at the Baptist church in Terry. Odra was special to me, and we were quite close before her sister Lou moved to Terry. We continued to work on community projects and socialize. Terry and I are quite shocked at Odra’s death. We send our condolences to Buddy, Stephanie, Trey, Lou, Brian, and Todd.

  8. Deborah Baughman

  9. Gail Rainer

I am so sorry to hear of Odra’s passing. We lived next door and I thought Odra could do anything that she set her mind to. She was a beautiful person and Oscar and I both loved her. Condolences to the Vick family and prayers for your strength going forward.

I was acquainted with Odra as my beautician. She was a lovely, gracious, happy lady who talked fondly of and shared photos of her grandchildren. She loved discussing the current book that she was reading and enjoyed living on the Gulf Coast. It seems she left us too soon and I know she will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

  11. Dale Mikkelsen

Did not know about Odra until seeing it in the Islander today! Seems like I just saw her at the Mexican Restaurant not long ago and we talked and laughed! I loved her and I am so sorry about her loss! May God be with all of her loved ones as I know she will be missed! Sincerely, Dale
