“David” Farris, 74, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 after his three yearlong battle with cancer. He lived a full and long life. David was a loving husband that enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and loved his dog, Nikki. He was born in Texas and served in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed on a ship in Guantanamo Bay during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. David retired in 2004 to Silverhill, AL with his wife, Donna.

He is preceded in death by his two sons, Tim and Robert Farris.

David is survived by his loving wife, Donna Farris; mother, Mary Patterson; siblings, Mike (Nadine) Farris, Sue Roper, Anne McCormick and John (LaNelle) Farris; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Stapleton Church of God. Pastor John. P. Lambert will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your charity of choice in David’s name. Expressions of condolence may be offered at Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL 36526.
