In Loving Memory

Paige Sawyer Prine, d. December 12, 2018

In Loving Memory

July 27, 1961 – December 12, 2018

Paige Sawyer Prine, age 57, left her earthly home to be with Jesus on December 12, 2018.  Paige was born on July 27, 1961.  She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jr. Prine; her two children, Shanna Jones (Rees Jones) and Justin Prine (Heidi); grandchildren, Brodie and Baker; father, Leroyce Sawyer (Faye); brother, Todd Sawyer (Gina); a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Paige was a loving and faithful wife, and a devoted and caring mother.  She was a fun, giving, and joyful “Sweet P” to her grandchildren.  Paige was preceded in death by her mother, Brownie Sawyer; and her younger brother, Scott Sawyer.

Paige brought joy to this Earth by teaching children to read and write.  She used her passion of teaching to spread the love of Christ daily in her classroom.  She dedicated many years to her foster child, Charlotte Campbell Bagwell.  Paige was devoted to the Honduras mission effort and served on many mission trips.  Her most cherished time was spent with family and friends at her happy place in Orange Beach.

We will have two services to honor the life of Paige Sawyer Prine.  A service will be held at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  A visitation with a memorial service to follow will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Homewood Church of Christ in Birmingham, Alabama.  In lieu of flowers, Paige requested donations to Homewood Church of Christ (Honduras Missions) or Maji Hope  at

Paige and I taught together at Calera Elementary School. She was the most wonderful teacher and a precious person. I kept in touch a little via text. The last time we spoke she asked for prayers for strength as she contemplated leaving her loved ones behind. She loved you all so so much. I am heartbroken and will miss her dearly. I am comforted knowing she is with our Lord and Savior and she is now healed.

Sending most heartfelt thoughts and prayers. Paige was a precious person dedicated to her faith and family. I know you will find some peace in knowing that she is in a place where there is no pain. She will always be with her family in the great memories She leaves. Love and prayers for the days ahead.

    Junior and family,
Although I did not know Paige, I often heard her mother-in-law, Mary Sowell Prine, speak of her and her love of Christ and her family. I pray you will seek Peace and Healing from your Heavenly Father, who has brought peace to Paige and ended her pain here on this earth. Remembering you in prayer at this time.
(Second cousin of Junior via Sowell family.)
