Pamela Kay Colen, a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the age of 72.
Pam was born in Tuscaloosa, AL but spent many years in CA where she worked as a pre-school teacher’s aide at Taft College before retiring and becoming a full-time “Grammie” to her grandkids. Pam loved the Lord and was very involved at her local church, Community Christian Fellowship, in CA and Compass Christian Fellowship, after relocating to Colorado. Pam was very talented at making crafts and enjoyed scrapbooking and card making. She loved camping with her grandkids, attending bible study with sweet friends, visiting family in Missouri, and meeting her brother in Gulf Shores for a beach vacation. Pam had a heart of gold, a beautiful smile, an angelic singing voice and such a joyous spirit. She spent the last three years with her son and family in Daphne, battling Alzheimer’s, before going to be with Jesus.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Campbell; brother, Robert “Bobby” Campbell, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Patty Campbell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Michael Roy Colen; her son, Brian Ruff (Mandy) of Daphne, AL; her grandchildren, Brianna, Julia, Mariah and Hudson Ruff; two brothers, Douglas Campbell (Laura) of Spring Branch, TX and Michael Campbell (Connie) of Madison, AL; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and treasured friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Hwy. 225 in Spanish Fort, AL, on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11AM.
Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, is assisting the family.
Pam was such a good friend and sister in Christ who I dearly loved . We attended Bible studies and retreats together as well as craft days making cards and other paper crafts together. She and Mike were in our small group at Compass Christian Fellowship and attended Parker Evangelical Presbyterian together. We also vacationed together as well and had many dinners together. I will always miss her laughter until we meet again. I am thankful she is no longer suffering and is in the presence of Jesus who she loves so much. Psalm 116:15 says: Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. She is home with Him and she is so precious to Him!
The Alzheimer’s disease took her for a short while but she is no longer affected and is so much better off now!
I miss you my dear friend but, because of our salvation through Jesus Christ we will see each other again!
So sorry for your lose. But she is with her lord and savior now. Love to all of you.

Pam was such a good friend and a sister in Christ. We meet and both attended CCF in Taft, CA.
Pammie was a planner. We planned dinners, retreats, shopping trips and study time with our Lord.

Oh, Pam! Your absence is already noticed. Though Heaven is now your home and you arrived first, our eathly abode is just not the same. I’m so thankful the Lord introduced us at Christ’s Church of the Valley in Bakersfield, CA. Friendship sprouted quickly – Bible studies, women’s ministry events, skits at the women’s retreat, lunches at some of our favorite spots. You moved to Colorado – I got to visit and it was wonderful! I moved to Alabama and you and Mike visited me several times. This earth is temporary and I’m grateful our journeys crossed. Now you can meet my mom and sister.
Pam, I truly miss you. I’m so blessed God put you in my life and made you such a wonderful friend. We had great times in our home bible study group, crafting, eating, going on retreats, laughing, and having deep conversations. You were one of a kind. You showed the world what it meant to walk with the Lord. I look forward to seeing you again in Heaven. I love you sweet friend.

Pam was a wonderful example of a Christian woman. She was a great friend. I will forever be grateful for her befriending my adult daughter and being instrumental in her becoming involved at church. She touched so many lives and will be remembered as a special friend to all!
Pamela, was very special. I waited for her to come into my life. A special lady, like Pam doesn’t come around very often. Special, doesn’t say enough to describe her.
