Patsy Ann Johnson Pennington, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on October 17, 1939, in Wise, Virginia.
Patsy worked for many years as a PBX Operator at the Grand Hotel. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Patsy is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph R. Pennington; her parents, Willie and Elizabeth Johnson; and one brother, Joe Johnson.
She is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia Pennington Bell of Robertsdale, AL, Regina Giddens (Gerald) of Perdido, AL and Karen Kingsmore (Steve) of Loxley, AL; her grandchildren, Luke Durden, Wendy Harris (Elvis), Samantha Khan, Derek Giddens (Breanna), Melissa Galanopoulos (Alan), Skye Bell, Megan Babb (Kyle) and Amanda Cobb (Anthony); her great-grandchildren, Briannah, Delainey, Nevaeh, Sadie, Landen, Kensington, Graysen, Elijah, Cambrie, Karleigh, Cecelia, and Brantley; her siblings, Ervin Johnson, Frances Wiley and Robert Johnson; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, AL, on Monday, September 22, 2025. There will be a time of visitation before the service beginning at 9AM, followed by the service at 10AM.

Tearfully and Joyfully, we lost of our matriarch, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As my mother-in-law, she loved me like her own son and I lover her like my mother. She modelled strength and love of family that is so rare in the world today. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
