Paul David Bednarowski

Paul David Bednarowski, age 78, died in his home in Fairhope, AL the evening of October 19, 2022. He was surrounded by family members during a recitation of the Rosary. 

Paul was born on March 29, 1944, in Neenah, WI to his parents, Paul August and Irene Mabel Smith Bednarowski. He was a resident of Menasha, WI throughout his teenage years. He attended the University of Wisconsin, and he graduated with a B.S. in Economics in 1966. It was in college that he met Lois Lewis Bednarowski, his wife of 56 years.

Following college, Paul began his employment with Scott Paper Company, later acquired by Kimberly Clark Corporation. Paul worked for the same company for 33 years until his retirement in December of 1999. During that time, he transferred several times between Detroit, MI, Glen Falls, NY, Mobile, AL, West Chester, PA, and finally back to Mobile in 1981, where he kept his residence in the Fairhope, AL area until his death.

Paul was a parishioner at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope for over 40 years. He served several terms on the parish council, and he was an active volunteer in many other church-based activities. One of those organizations was the St. Vincent DePaul Society, where he served for approximately 20 years including time as the Treasurer.

Paul was an avid golfer, and following his retirement, he worked at Quail Creek Golf Course for about 20 years. Paul had two holes in one in his lifetime.  Among his other interests, Paul enjoyed investments and was a member of an investment club for several years. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed playing games with his family, especially the card game cribbage. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Irene Bednarowski. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lois Bednarowski. He is also survived by his children, Katy (Tony) Madson, Sara Sullivan, Karen (Ronnie) Mullins, and Paul (Shannon) Bednarowski; grandchildren, Anthony Madson (30), Elizabeth Madson (22), Emily Madson (21), Emma Bednarowski (17), George Mullins (17), Lucy Mullins (15), Ellie Bednarowski (14), Mary Lois Sullivan (14), and Mae Mullins (12); siblings, Keith (Mary Farrell) Bednarowski and Thomas (Mary Flanagan) Bednarowski.

The funeral service will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope, AL, Saturday, October 29. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, funeral mass at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the parish hall.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Paul spent many years working with this group, and he served several years as their treasurer. They help so many people. Below is how you can help:

We will have donation boxes at the church during the funeral on Saturday, October 29th at 11am and will bring it to the reception as well at the parish gym following mass.

    Paul was always such a kind and cheerful person. Always cracking jokes. I worked with him during my years at the City of Fairhope. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts for the family

    Rest in eternal peace Paul. I enjoyed playing tennis and Wallyball with you. Also it was fun working together at Quail Creek! You will be missed. Heaven got a good man.
