Paul Vincent Connell, Sr., a native of Mobile and a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 79.

Paul graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile.  He worked at Dairy Fresh Incorporated for over 40 years.  He was a member of Abba Shrine.  In his spare time, he loved playing golf and going fishing.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Chambless Connell and George Edward Connell, Sr.; and brothers, George Edward Connell, Jr. and Michael David Connell, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, JoAnn DeAngelo Connell; stepchildren, Carrie Ann Heideman (Ron) of Largo, FL, James Glenn Philen (Amy) of Semmes, AL and Connie Lynn Chapman (Mike) of Mobile, AL; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lorna Smith (Ronnie) of Fairhope, AL.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, at 11:30AM.  There will be a time of visitation before the service to begin at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Shriners of Mobile County by mailing at check to 7701 Hitt Road, Mobile, AL 36695, or to your favorite charity.
