In Loving Memory

Peggy Jeanne (Travis) Turk, a longtime resident of Mobile, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born in Parsons, KS in 1923 and lived for many years in California before moving to Mobile in 1940. She graduated in 1944 from the Alabama School for the Deaf in Talladega, AL and was a faithful longtime member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for the Deaf. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Eugene C. Turk, her son, Julian H. Turk, and her grandson, Brian Woods.
Peggy is survived by two sons, Travis E. (Linda Monk) Turk, Nashville, TN and Gary F. Turk, Mobile; her two daughters, Cheryl T. (Paul) Albert and Jackie T. (Steve) Woods, Semmes, AL. Peggy was affectionately known as “Nana” to her eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 151 S. Ann St. at Government St. in Mobile at a time to be announced.
