On Monday, April 6, 2020, Peggy Webb Possien passed away at her home in Bay Minette, Alabama. She was born on October 22, 1954 in Claremore, Oklahoma to William Thomas Webb and Juanita Maxine Webb. Peggy was the youngest of three girls. She was a graduate of Baldwin County High School and the University of South Alabama.
Peggy met her husband, John Raymond Possien, at Cottage Hill Presbyterian Church, in Mobile, Alabama. Peggy, who loved music, was an accomplished musician and participated in many church music groups. John and Peggy were in church choir together and quickly became friends. Five years later, on February 8, 1980 they married in her parent’s home in Bay Minette, Alabama.
John and Peggy celebrated forty years of the best years of their life. They enjoyed working as a team in everything, including craft shows, tennis, gardening, bee-keeping, and raising two successful fine young men, one of which has two beautiful sons.
Peggy was one-of-a-kind, the kind of person that would make you laugh until you couldn’t breathe anymore. In any situation, she was always the life of the party, the instigator of all things fun. Her fun-loving personality was magnetic and inspiring, always seeing the brighter side of life. Her joy for all things came from her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave her everything she ever needed. Even when faced with a terminal cancer prognosis, she never lost hope in God’s ability to heal and deliver her. Though the healing didn’t come, she was delivered, and remained faithful, being supported by her many friends in prayer.
Peggy, with all she had, fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
