Raymond Franklin Walley, 73, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was a resident of Fairhope for 73 years. He is a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Kimberly Clarke which was formerly Scott Paper Co.

He is preceded by his wife, Shirley Ann Walley and his parents, George and Margaret Walley.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Phil) Fraher of Houston, TX; son, Ernie (Bonnie) Walley of Ashland, OR; sister and brother-in-law, Aline and Samuel Givens of Fairhope; sister-in-law, Carolyn Wood of Knoxville, TN; nephews, Kenny Merriweather and Lloyd Peffer and niece, Connie Thompson; grandchildren, Abby and Thomas Fraher, Lillian Walley and Abby Conte.

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 28788 North Main St, Daphne, AL 36526, with Rev. Thack H. Dyson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Inurnment will be held at 12:30pm at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 Alabama Hwy 225, Spanish Fort, AL 36527. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond’s memory to the St. Paul’s Building Fund. Expressions of condolence may be offered at Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home and Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL 36526.

    Very sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. He and your mom were faithful members of. St. Paul’s and will truly be missed. He was a fine man. I am unable to attend the service as I am leaving for a Christmas visit to Birmingham. Christian love and best wishes to all of the family
