It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dad, Revello Francis “Pete” Bowen on July 27, 2019. Many children, far beyond his grandchildren, kindly referred to him as “Paw Paw Pete”
Our dad was born, May 1, 1939 in Montrose, Alabama to Persis H. Bowen and R.A. “Bill” Bowen. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve from 1958 to 1962. His career within the airlines industry took him to many states, but he returned home to the Eastern Shore in the 80’s and lived out his life in Baldwin County. In the early 80’s, he and then wife, Lisa, opened and operated the Fairhope Fitness Center.
While our hearts are broken we know his suffering has now ended and there were so many kind caregivers along the way. Sheneva Jackson quickly became his fierce caregiver and protector. A “Thank you” is not enough for Heather, Laura, Kenya, Kim and so many others of Comfort Care Hospice. Lawana Wesley, our father’s best friend, and former spouse, opened her home for his care and we are very grateful for her love and companionship with our father.
Pete is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Frances Kephart and Kelly Lee Farwell; son, Brian Andrew Bowen; his five grandchildren, Jack Francis Kephart (19), Annabelle Susanne Kephart (16), Samuel Dalton Farwell (14), Miller Hayes Bowen (9), and Baylor Kate Bowen (4).
Pete’s surviving siblings are Richard Bowen (wife, Dorothy), Mary Hellen Forest (husband, Ryder), Silvia Ferguson, and Edward Bowen (wife, Lator). Preceded in death by his eldest brother, Clark (wife, Charlene).
Funeral service will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 19993 County Road 33, Fairhope, Alabama, 36532 at 2pm, Saturday, August 3, 2019. No graveside ceremony will be included in the celebration of our dad’s life.
In lieu of flowers, please send your donations, prayers and well wishes to the Trump/Pence 2020 Presidential campaign #forpetessaketrump2020. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne, AL is assisting the family.
