Tribute

Rex Colin Bryant, loving husband, father, Popa, brother and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the age of 70.

Rex attended Liberty Bible College where he met his bride, Shirley. They were married for 50 years.  He was an ordained minister and was involved and served with many organizations and ministries around the world. Rex loved the Lord and spent his life sharing the gospel of Jesus.

In his spare time, Rex enjoyed building custom homes and loved doing ancestry research. But most of all Rex loved time spent with his family.

Rex is survived by his wife, Shirley Bryant; children, Rex Colin Bryant, Jr., Jenny Lynne Sumrall, and Natalie Bryan (Richard); grandchildren, Zoey, Victoria, Haley, Annabelle, Abigail, Isaac, Julianna and Kaleb; one great-grandchild, Amelia; siblings, Sheila Wright (Billy), Debra Sessions (Bill), Robin Abernathy (Donnie) and Russel Bryant; along with other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Praise Family Church, 2605 Dawes Road, Mobile, AL, at 12PM. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation before the service beginning at 11AM.

    My poppa was a great man with an amazing heart, he would do anything for anybody. He always wanted to be face-to-face with God and now he is he will be greatly missed Poppa.

    I will always cherish the many Bible study teachings that Rex led at New Life Church. His passion for the Lord drew me. Those teaching moments still burn in my mind and heart to this day. Thank you Lord for bringing our paths together! Praying for you Shirley and Family in your many days to come with Peace and Comfort. God is Faithful.

    I had the privilege to know Rex at Liberty Bible College many years ago, and Shirley was my roommate and friend. What a testimony of serving the Lord they have and of sharing blessings in the Body of Believers everywhere!
