Richard Charles Krengel, a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 71.

On Saturday, May 31, the world lost an amazing man. He didn’t just lead a full life, he led several. He was a sailor, a lineman, he worked for the railroad, he was a master electrician, a tower crane operator, a cowboy, and a fire marshal. He was also a son, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, and a friend. And he was my father. My Daddy.
He had more passion in his pinky finger than most folks have in their whole heart these days, so when he felt something, he felt it deeply. And when I say he loved with his whole heart, I mean he loved with every fiber of his being. And it was that big heart of his that put up one heck of a fight at the end.
He passed surrounded by family, and by love. And I held his hand right to the very end. But hear me when I tell you to take as many pictures as you can, and soak in every moment you’re given. Because in the end, no matter how many, or how long, you have, it will never, ever, be enough. 💔
Go rest high on that mountain, Dad. We will love and miss you forever.

Rick, you will always be missed and loved. In one lifetime you experienced so many diverse interests that were seemingly unrelated. Yet, you were a sailor. You climbed telephone poles for the railroad and shot rattlesnakes so you could get back down. You worked on tower cranes, and hunted with a crossbow on horseback. You were a firefighter and a most generous gift giver. I don’t know what challenges are ahead of you but I’m sure you will be all in. Rest easy Rick, much love, Marge and Norm
