Richard David Connell, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 62.

Richard attended Satsuma High School and went to Southwest State Technical College in Mobile.  He was an outstanding car mechanic and loved working on cars.  Richard loved collecting antiques and had many pieces he was very proud of.  He enjoyed watching football and other sports and was a big Alabama Crimson Tide Fan!  Roll Tide!

Richard is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lottie Havens; his paternal grandparents, Cletes and Rachael Connell; and his half-brother, Christopher Connell.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Havens; his father, David Connell (Barbara); his sister, Julie Connell Chapman (Chris); his half-brother, Casey Connell; his half-sister, Amanda Connell; his nephew, Landon Connell (Ally); three half-nephews; and one half-niece.

A celebration of life will be held at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11AM – 1PM. Please join us for a time of visitation together remembering Richard’s life.
