Tribute

Robert “Bob” Thomas Ogle, Jr., 70, of Chickasaw, AL, died suddenly from natural causes on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Mobile, AL.

He leaves behind his wife, Valerie Spisak Ogle of Chickasaw, AL; a sister, Bettye Ogle Barrett Miller of Mobile County; brothers-in-law, Thomas Spisak (Janis Knight) of Massachusetts, Dana Spisak (Carrie), and Derek of Mobile, AL; and his treasured nieces, Emma and Ada Spisak. He was predeceased by his parents, Bob Ogle, Sr. and Betty Westover Ogle; cherished nephew, Christopher Barrett; his adored aunt, Ruby Ogle; and beloved stepson, Benjamin Reed.

Bob was employed by Baileys Pools and Patios, had a lengthy career with The Red Cross at local and national levels, and worked as a church administrator for Trinity United Methodist Church of Huntsville, AL.  He served as a hospital corpsman in the Navy after being drafted during the Vietnam War.

Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Athens State. While attending the University of South Alabama (USA), he developed his fanaticism for all sports, especially baseball. Bob loved to tell of traveling with Stanky coached baseball teams wherever and whenever they played. He was embraced by USA Athletic Department and dearly loved the friends he made among fellow fans.

Bob’s other joy and mission was singing as a tenor in Dauphin Way United Methodist Church choir.

Funeral arrangements are handled by Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne, Alabama, and are incomplete at this time.

Bob was a wonderful & compassionate person who truly cared for others.
I cherish the time that we spent together over the past 30+ watching the Jags play volleyball, soccer, basketball & baseball.
