Robert Edward Soles, a native of Gantt, Alabama, and a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 90.
Robert served in the United States Army. He grew up playing baseball, basketball, and softball. Robert always had a love of music and loved to sing. He also led music at Daphne Baptist and Belforest years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church Spanish Fort, where he always loved participating in the music, whether it was singing solos, congregational singing, or singing in the choir.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Soles; parents, Elonzo and Della Soles; and siblings, Ovenia, Ruby, Gene, Sean and Helon.
Robert is survived by his son, Bobby (Gail) Soles of Spanish Fort, Alabama; one grandson, Andy (Jennifer) Soles; and two great-grandchildren, Annaliese and Isaac Soles.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road in Daphne, AL, at 4:00 PM. There will be a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery in Andalusia, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church Spanish Fort, P. O. Box 7111, Spanish Fort, AL 36577.

No was a dear man. . Loved to hear him sing.. loved just talking with him. He will be missed.
He sang at our church mens breakfast (SFUMC) on several occasions. Bobby and Gail attended I rember that great voice.
