Robert Franklin Pollard, known to family and friends as Peewee, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 30, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 3, 1942, in Pensacola, Florida, Peewee was a proud resident of Rosinton, Alabama.

Peewee dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving in the United States Army. He bravely completed three tours in Vietnam and spent three years stationed in Germany, retiring from Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 1979.  Following his military career, he continued to contribute his skills to the trucking industry, driving transfer trucks across the country and later tanker trucks, before concluding his career as a trucking safety trainer.

After retiring, Peewee found joy in riding his motorcycles and farming his land, activities that brought him much happiness and fulfillment.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eugena Jacobs; stepfather, Jake Jacobs; father, Jesse Pollard; and brothers, Jimmy Pollard, Jesse Pollard, Jr. and Curtis Pollard.

Peewee is survived by his loving wife, Shirley White Pollard; daughter, Delores “DeeDee” Hanks of Hartsell, Alabama; and sons, Anthony “Tony” Pollard of Fairhope, Alabama, Robert Dean “Bobby” Pollard of Elberta, Alabama, and Troy Michael Pollard of Robertsdale, Alabama.  He also leaves behind stepsons, Alan Bailey of Robertsdale and His Booger Bryant Hicks, of Rosinton, Alabama; sisters, Linday Walker of Springs, Texas and Brinda Hendrix of Sour Lake, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Heritage Church, 20993 Co. Road 64, in Robertsdale, AL, at 11AM.  There will be a time of visitation before the service begins, at 10:30AM.
