Romona Rosemary Phillips, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the age of 88.
Romona has been a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for over 58 years and served as a Eucharistic Minister for several years. She worked at Odom’s Shoe Store, Bedsole and Bedsole, and Gwin and Nix Florist. She started a catering business and made birthday, wedding and anniversary cakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Taylor Phillips; father, Anthony Geraci, Jr., mother, Stella Padilla; siblings, Thomas Geraci, Wayne Geraci and Dolly Geraci Relason.
Romona is survived by her children, Delia Phillips Driskell of Fairhope, AL and Milton O’Quinn (Patsy) of Waggaman, LA; five grandchildren, Tessie L. O’Quinn, Aris A. “Chip” Begnaud, III (Kerry), Phillip B. Begnaud, Brandie L. O’Quinn and Dennis R. Driskell, Jr. (Nancy); six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Catherine Quinn; along with other family members and friends.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 370 S. Section Street, Fairhope, AL. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Fairhope Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Romona’s memory to any of the following: St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 370 S. That day I cooked all afternoon, I could here you voice… let tell you how you can make it better next time!! I felt close to you in the kitchen. My heart hurts but happy that you in the house of the Lord. How wonderful it must be. Give everyone a hug for me let them know that they are love too.
Aunt Ramona you were a gift for all us to have in our lives. You will be missed but always remembered. I know you are at peace now with Uncle Taylor.
Aunt Ramona you were the Best Aunt and my Heroine. It makes me happy you are once again with the other half of your heart and True Love, Uncle Taylor, the man I admired most in this world.

I wish I could have shared this with you, we would have LOL, but mostly as I meditate during this hour this day, I wish I could be there to kiss you goodbye. As we said we will see each other again.
