In Loving Memory

September 23, 1917 – July 14, 2014

Rosa Vogt Hupka of Daphne, AL and formerly of Matamoras, PA and Sparrowbush, NY departed this life on July 14, 2014 following a short illness. Born on September 23, 1917 in Shohola, PA, she was married for 39 years to Dr. Carlyle C. Hupka who passed away in 1980. Rosa’s life was marked by her dedication to their family, her strong Christian faith and her loyalty to friends. She was a remarkable woman who considered others’ needs above her own and who brought a sense of joy and vitality to every setting.

Rosa is survived by her sons James Carlyle Hupka and his wife Lynne of Lebanon, TN, and Robert Frederick Hupka of Daphne, AL. She is further survived by four grandchildren: Laura Anderson Paige, Lisa Samantha Glover, Eric James Hupka and Theodore Carlyle Hupka; eight great-grandchildren and one nephew. Her oldest son Richard Raymond Hupka died in 1995.

A memorial service for Rosa will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, AL at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Rosa’s memory to the Music Instrument Fund at Christ United Methodist Church, 6101 Grelot Road, Mobile, AL 36609.
