In Loving Memory
February 15, 1929 – March 10, 2016
Ruth D. Bradshaw, 87, born in Pensacola and longtime Daphne resident, passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2016. She was always one of the hardest working ladies you would ever meet and one who wore many “hats” of business over the years. There was very little she couldn’t do and did it all with excellence. She and her husband were former restaurant owners who made it a family affair by employing all their children. She loved her family dearly and always included them, teaching a valuable work ethic. She was an amazing cook and caterer and a wonderful event planner, even planning, coordinating and catering her daughters weddings all the way to making the bridesmaids’ dresses and baking the wedding cakes too. An expert seamstress she, with the assistance of her daughters, made the first ever uniforms for Daphne High School’s Band. A busy lady, she was “Nanny” and always had time for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were her heart. She also had a family photography business that allowed them many opportunities to travel and see new things and places every day. She loved her family and she loved her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years, her only love, Robert Lee Bradshaw; her son, Robert Lee Bradshaw, II and three grandchildren, Kristy Harms, Bri Parish and Nicky Heusohn.
She is survived by her daughters, Dee (Johnny) McClantoc of Robertsdale, Sylinda (Bruce) Parish, of Daphne, and Shirley Heusohn of Pensacola; son, Dr. Roger Paul of Georgia and her sister, Elizabeth Ann (Ralph) Merrill of Pensacola. Also surviving are her five grandchildren, Tracey and Robert Bradshaw, III, Shantelle (James) Buck, Jonae Rudolph and Miranda Parish; nine great grandchildren, J.R., Stephen and Daryl Heusohn, Madalyn and Keanan Ard, Michael, Brandyn and David Buck, Kenny Harms and John (Kelsey) Harms; two great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Daphne. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00pm. A private family burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
