Sam Albano, age 81, born June 4, 1925 in Rockford, IL, died at his residence on Friday, October 13, 2006. Mr. Albano retired to Alabama in 1993. He was a loving husband and father most remembered for his loving humor, unconditional love and dedication to his family, friends, country and God.
Mr. Albano was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Mamie Albano; brother, John Ferro; step-daughter, Barbara Smith; mother to his birth children, Marian Albano and by his loving wife of 42 years, Essie Albano.
Survivors include his birth children, Sandra Watson, Taylorville, IL; William Albano, Sr, Pine Grove, KY; Michael Albano and Timothy Albano of Rockford, IL; step-children, Betty Sue Stanford and Ricky L. Terrell, Fairhope, AL; Paulett Wilson, Spanish Fort, AL; Linda Fay Buck, Rockford, IL; Virgil E. Terrell, Clayton, AL; adopted son, Darren Albano, Polo, IL. He
has a brother, Stephen Albano, Raleigh, NC; 4 sisters, Kathryn Taylor, Rockford, IL; Josephine
Albano and Angeline Strommer, La Mesa, CA and Ruth Pepitone, San Diego, CA. Sam was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, plus all the babies he loved so much who called him Paw-paw.
Memorial services with VFW Military Honors will be held at the Eastern Shore Christian
Center, 9078 Lawson Road @ Co. Rd. 13 in Daphne at 9:30 AM Tuesday, October 17, 2006
