She loved helping with homeschool and taking care of her many grandchildren.  She loved all children and enjoyed spending time with them every day.  She had a heart of gold and was a big kid at heart.  She loved all holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and always made them so special for her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren over the years. She loved playing cards and board games and was the champion of Monopoly!  Shirley was a member of South River Park Church of God and loved her church family very much.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Lewis Caswell Sr., who was a US Veteran; her parents, Arthur Thomas Macdonald III and Shirley Mae Banks Macdonald; and her grandparents, Margarita Mary McSweeney Macdonald, Captain Shirley H. Banks and Grace Henderson Banks

She is survived by her six children, Philip Lewis Caswell Jr., Kerima Ann McIntosh (Paul McIntosh), Arthur Shawn Caswell, Kristina Diane Carroll (William Carroll), Ryan Thomas Caswell (Jenna Pitman) and Zachary Macdonald Caswell; grandchildren, Philip Lewis Caswell, III,  Felicia Ryae Carroll Rogers (Kelly Rogers), Charles Cortland Caswell, Lacey Maria Carroll, Samantha Shea Caswell Lipscomb (John Lipscomb), Lexi Cheyenne Caswell, Jacob Foster Carroll, Kaitlyn Jordan McIntosh Williams (Nathan Williams), Savannah Kristina Carroll, Seth Nicolas McCracken, Serena Ann Carroll, Clara Grace Caswell, Cristen Grace Caswell and Cade Thomas Caswell; and her great-grandchildren, Adelyn Teal Caswell, Elleahna Cadence Duran Lipscomb, Norah Shea Lipscomb and Gabriella Angel Jojola; as well as other family members and friends.

My love to the family. I will miss hearing Shirley’s sweet laugher when we were able to speak with one another, how she loved reminding me I was her babydoll growing up. She never let me forget how she loved to dress me up. She was a loving daughter, cousin but most of all she was a wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I pray she finds peace as she rests with our Heavenly Father in life ever after.

My condolences to the family. Growing up I was fortunate enough to spend time with the Caswell family. Shirley Caswell was an extremely caring and selfless individual. She also cooked the best tacos that I’ve ever had. She will be missed.
