Thomas Donald “Don” Grace, Sr., of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the age of 84.
Don was born and raised in Evergreen, Alabama on December 23, 1938. He served in the US Army in the early 60s, then soon after met and married Angie, his wife of 60 years. He retired as Power Plant Supervisor from International Paper Company after 42 years. In the early 70s, he and his brother, Dewayne, started G & G Construction and built many local homes, including some family members’ homes.
Don was a devoted husband, father, and Papa to ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of fishing, hunting, and Alabama football (Roll Tide!), all of which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband and dedicated grandfather who spent hours rocking grandbabies, driving them around on the lawn mower, and teaching them how to swim.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wilton Grace and Gladys Ellis Grace, and siblings, Gordon Dewayne Grace and Betty Grace Tanner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Angie Ett Grace; children, Donnie Grace of Camden, AL, Tim (Tammy) Grace of Spanish Fort, AL, Ashley (Dennis) Campbell of Fairhope, AL and Jeff (Kim) Grace of Spanish Fort, AL; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Doug (Mickey) Grace of Evergreen, AL; and special friends, Sonny & Frances Nowell of Spanish Fort, AL

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Jubilee Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 181 in Daphne, at 10AM.

Mr. Don you will be greatly missed. I can remember the first time I met you and you wanted to have this tough skin and after about 3 more visits and I would open the door and you would greet me “Hey boss lady”. I admired the love you had for Ms. Angie and I promise to always look out for her. Rest easy.
