Thomas Earl Sawyer, Sr., 87, of Foley, died peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday, November 20, 2013.  Mr. Sawyer was born in Frisco City, Alabama and was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.  He worked at Brookley AFB and retired from Naval Air Station, Pensacola as an aircraft mechanic with 31 years of service.  Mr. Sawyer was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley for 45 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Glenn and Cornelia Stacey Sawyer, and by a son, William Glenn Sawyer.
Mr. Sawyer is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Margaret Eugenie Hinton Sawyer; daughters, Melanie (Cecil) McClinton and Stephanie Sawyer Johnston; sons, Thomas Earl (Deanna) Sawyer, Jr. and Leslie Toliver Sawyer; brother, James (Paula) Terrell; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Monday, November 25, 2013 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Foley with Rev. Keith Talbert and Rev. Denson Freeman, Jr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Sunday, November 24 from 2pm til 4pm at Hughes Funeral Home in Daphne.  Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.  Notes of condolence for the family may be expressed at hughesfh.com.  Funeral arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home& Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.
