Thomas Alton Trehern, born, raised and schooled in Mobile, AL, died April 11, 2014.  He served in the US Army from 1957-1960 and was stationed in Greenland.  Tom served as a Merchant Marine, traveling the world many times over.  He worked for SIU before retiring and had trained and instructed at Piney Point, MD.

 Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Leila B. Trehern and Joseph Thomas Trehern, two brothers, Jim and Carl. 

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Lynn) Trehern of Lexington Park, MD:  three sisters, Hazel Stevens, Pensacola, FL, Sherry Sutton, Trenton, GA, Delilah (Robert) Ervin, Mobile;  one brother, Joe (Sharon), Kaneohe, Hawaii;  two granddaughters:  eleven nieces and nephews.

Grave side services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 11:00am at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Alabama Patriot Guard Riders, 758 Ashwood Drive, East, Mobile, AL 36693.  Please designate for Southwest Alabama’s P.G.R.  Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com.
