December 5, 1939 – March 7, 2010 In Loving Memory.
Thomas Willson Carpenter born on December 5, 1939 in Versailles, MO and a resident of Daphne, died Sunday, March 7, 2010.

Mr. Carpenter lived in St. Joseph and Jefferson City, MO as a child. His family moved to Springfield, MO where he graduated from Parkview High School in 1957.

Thomas attended the University of Missouri from 1959 to 1962 on a football scholarship where he played in the 1960 and 1961 Orange Bowls. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He earned his degree in Industrial Engineering and received a commission in the US Army from the University in 1961. He served in Heidelberg, Germany from 1961 to 1964.

Returning to Kansas City, MO, he worked for IBM, Dean Witter, and Drexel Burnham Lambert and was president of BTM, Inc. Thomas moved to Orange Beach in 2002.

Surviving is his wife, Carla Chastang Carpenter;

5 children, Christopher Carpenter of Kansas City, MO, Conrad Carpenter of Lawrence, KS, Sarah Murphy of Kansas City, KS, Amanda(Dan) Durkin of Kansas City, MO and Will Carpenter of Daphne, AL;

2 step-children, Tess (Eddie) Davis of Bay Minette, AL and Haley (Brandon) Kernells of Ft. Bragg, NC;

3 grandchildren, Jack Murphy, Joe Durkin and Johnny Durkin and 5 step-grandchildren, Joshua Boatwright, Cruz Davis, Anna Davis, Christian Kernells and Blakeley Kernells and many other friends.

A memorial visitation celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service in Daphne.
