Victor Edward “Vic” Fraser passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 93.
Vic was born October 6, 1929, in Gary, Indiana, to John and Mary Valaria (Wackowski) Fronczak. He served as a Marine during the Korean War. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Science and Education from Arizona State College at Flagstaff and received his Master’s in Education from Indiana State. He taught Science and Mathematics for Gary Community Schools before teaching at Deep River Environmental Center, which was a part of the Gary Educational System. After 36 years, Vic retired from teaching in Indiana. At 71, he moved to Alabama with his wife, Patricia. He was a substitute teacher at Central Baldwin Middle School for approximately ten years. Over the years, Vic touched the lives of many students and coworkers, instilling in them a desire to learn more about the environment.
Vic loved being outdoors and had a lifelong love of nature and, especially flowers. He and Patricia traveled often, visiting National Parks and memorials across the Eastern United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers and two sisters; by his first wife, Helene Chris; and one granddaughter, Julee.
Vic is survived by Patricia, his wife of 24 years; his son, Bradley Fraser; his step-children, Deborah Cooper, Dawn Motes (Charles, Sr.), Renea Doyle (Thomas), Kevin Cooper, Barbara Kane, and Eric Cooper; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, 34904 State Hwy. 225in Spanish Fort, AL 36577, on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
