A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Violet relocated to the Mobile area in the late 1950s where she met her husband of 55 years, John “Johnny” O. Williams. The two married in 1960 and were the first couple to be married at Travis Road Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.

Violet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a woman of great faith. In many ways, she was the “true north” of her family, always pointing to Jesus. She was known for her kindness and the way she made people feel at ease and valued. She was a woman who faced many trials and adversity throughout her life, but her trust in the LORD never wavered. She was a faithful warrior in prayer for her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
