Vivian Olena Jarrett, 88, of Barnwell, passed away at home on Friday, August 14, 2015. Always the homemaker for many years and caring for her family were her main priorities. Thinking she might like to work outside the home, she worked for a short time at Woolworth’s in downtown Mobile. Vivian will always be remembered as a lady who was good and sweet to everyone she met, never missing an opportunity to help anyone in need. She loved her Lord and she loved her family deeply. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Dewey “Bill” Jarrett.

Surviving are her son, William Earl Jarrett and her daughter, Glenda Annette (Cliff) Covert, all of Barnwell; sisters, Voncile (Charles) Jarrett, Barnwell and Eulene Norris of Mobile; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Hughes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 6:00pm. Expressions of condolence may be offered at Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home & Crematory, 7951 American Way, Daphne, AL.

    I loved her so much. The sweetest Aunt ever. She made the best hush puppies and fried fish ever. I will always remember our times at the beach house. Best childhood memories. We will meet again in heaven.

    Words cannot express how much love I had for Aunt Vivian and you Earl. Many wonderful happy memories always will be cherished even more. She will be missed so much and we loved her dearly. We had so many great times growing up and traveling from Texas just to go see all of you for years. Not a day will go by that you and the family aren’t in our prayers. We will all see her in a new body in Heaven one day 🙂 God be with you always. Love you
